This article is dominantly based around online surveillance. It also speaks about how the government can access
personal information from people’s online accounts. The
article begins with giving the example of a school in Philadelphia with the
teachers spying on the students through the installed web cams of laptops
provided by the school. This introduces the idea of people being able to spy on
people in the safety of their own homes by the Government. Also, this articles mentions the way technology is improving
quite quickly, meaning that people’s privacy is at more risk and could lead to
very essential private information being eroded. Lastly, this article infers on Edward
Snowdon, a man who freely put up private information indicating how the
governments access millions of yahoo user’s information.
Personally, I am bothered about the
process of tracking. This is mainly because it erodes an individual’s privacy,
not giving them the facility to feel safe and freely use the web. Recently, people
have been uploading their personal information and details without knowing
which is deceiving and shouldn't be allowed as people aren't aware of it. Many
young people tend to use the internet as therefore this hugely endangers them,
as they are vulnerable and aware of such schemes so I think the concept of data
mining is rather unethical. Having to accept this change could potentially
be bad as there are trolls who wouldn't intentionally mean to say rude things.
However this could be misinterpreted to the extent that it could cause issues.
This isn't even a small price to pay
